Obituary of Arnold W. Johnson
Arnold Johnson
Of Waukesha, was called home by his Good Lord Jesus Christ on April 28, 2012
at the age of 91 years. Arnold was born in the town of Hewitt, outside of
Wausau, WI on January 29, 1921 to Charles and Anna Johnson. He stayed in the
Wausau and Bonduel area and farmed for a part of his adult life. He moved to
the Waukesha area and became a devoted member at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church
where he sang in the choir, was an usher, and served on past church councils. At
Grace, he also met his cherished wife, Dorothy while singing in the Choir. The
two married on February 15, 1947. Arnold was a dedicated employee of the
School District of Waukesha's Maintenance Department until his retirement in
1992.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lois (Harvey) Stowe and his
son, Allen (Jennifer) Johnson. He was the adored grandfather to Stacie (Brian)
Thimmesch, Stephanie (Nick) Butrym, and Steven (fiancée Aubrey Mlachnik)
Stowe. He was also a loving Great Boppa to Taylor, Brady, and Tenley
Thimmesch and Caroline Butrym; sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson. Arnold is also
survived by many caring nieces and nephews. Arnold was preceded in death by
his wife of fifty-six years, Dorothy; his parents, Charles and Anna; sisters, Violet,
Esther, and Arlene; brothers, Oliver, Evar, Elmer, Chester, and Willard.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. funeral service on
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood
Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Arthur Koepsell will be officiating. A private
interment will follow on Thursday, May 3 at Prairie Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Grace Evangelical
Lutheran Church, (see address above) or The Caring Place, 810 N. East Ave.,
Waukesha, WI 53186. The family would also like to extend a special thank you
to Dr. Gerald Berman, the wonderful staff of the Specialty Care Floor of Avalon
Square, and to Hospice Advantage for the heartfelt care they all provided for
Arnold before he left to be with his Savior.
