In loving memory of Lynn Anderson, someone so special can never be forgotten...
I grew closer to Lynn in the past two years although I first met her through mutual friends about 7 years ago. We shared many interests in common such as yoga, fitness, love of music, dancing, laughter, teaching, working with kids, being a positive force in this world and always doing and giving our best. This picture was taken of the two of us at Summerfest this past July 2019. We had gone by shuttle bus with a group of women friends but I suggested to Lynn that the two of us go off by ourselves to take some photos by the Lake. Lynn snapped various shots and poses of me and I told her they looked as if they had been done by a professional photographer! Now I know why... Her artistic eye was in action. I was able to meet her son Brandon that day at one of the music stages and her daughter Brittany during a visit to Milwaukee towards the end of summer. I am so glad I was able to share these happy and special moments with someone I was only just beginning to really know. She was the kind of person I would have wanted and treasured as a lifelong friend... Lynn, I am so sorry to see you go so soon. I will never forget you. Love, Patrice

TO ALL WHO LOVED AND KNEW MY FRIEND, LYNN: By: Diane C. Creekmur
It is with heavy heart that we laid my dear friend, Lynn Anderson to rest yesterday. I have struggled to write these words for over a week. How does one close a chapter on a friend whose life brought light and love to every one she met? While for many of us the finality of yesterday seemed like goodbye, I like to think that for Lynn…the end of her story here on earth is truly just a new beginning in the next life.
I met Lynn in 2004 at a Fourth of July party in Burlington. I was going through my divorce at the time. I was with my neighbor, Kathy Oaks. We had gone to the party to enjoy the “Fourth” festivities and listen to some music when a little lady with a smile liked Goldie Hawn approached us. She was friendly, and outgoing, clearly the kind of person that made you feel welcome even if you didn’t know anyone else in the room. We talked of our interests and experiences. She was very creative. She had an Art background and was working on a new Teaching career at the time. We found out that we were both members of a swing dance class at the Ale House and we knew many of the same people. We talked a lot about single life. Lynn was alone that night. Her divorce was still fresh in her mind, but we quickly formed a friendship.
We made friends with a group of single ladies in similar situations, and became good pals. I spent many hours going to the swing dance class, festivals, and parties that summer. The friendship budded from there. She was always there for me for every birthday, party, tragedy, illness or family event. While she had many struggles of her own, including health issues, she dealt with those privately… and remained steadfast and strong throughout her life.
Lynn had a sweet, nurturing and gentle spirit about her. This nurturing quality made her successful as a pre-school teacher. She loved her work, but it was her family that was her number one priority. Lynn’s greatest wish for her children was to live long a long and happy life. She lived so that they could prosper and flourish. The greatest love and sacrifice she made was for her children.
She was an exceptionally concerned parent, but never complained when life threw obstacles her way. She gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, even when they didn’t deserve it. She loved her family and friends and truly let her light shine upon every one she met. Lynn’s warmth, magic and sunny disposition radiated beauty and goodness to everyone when she entered a room. She was truly one of the most beautiful flowers in life’s garden! This was because her beauty radiated, not only on the outside, but from within.
It is hard to capture all the qualities on paper that made Lynn who she was, but I, for one, will never forget her kind and gentle soul. She was a good friend, a loving mother, a devoted sister and loved by all those who knew her. She was our shining star! I will miss my good friend, Lynn Anderson. I feel fortunate to have been part of her life. While Lynn’s candle burned out on the earth too soon, I am certain her light and love will continue to shine down upon us from heaven.
Rest in peace, dear friend….
